A Day on the Green Line

How do you ride?

August 20, 2014

The Green Line has been running for about two months and, according to Metro Transit, there were 925,194 rides on the Green Line in July, boosting the year-to-date total to 1,455,784 million rides! Average weekday ridership on the Green Line after just two months is 30,970 – 12.5% ahead of 2015 projections.

We took a ride on the new Green Line to see for ourselves how people ride. The Funders Collaborative and our partners envision and are working toward a transit line is a connector – of people and places to opportunity. A transit corridor that provides access to jobs, education, shopping, increased business traffic, housing options, and to neighborhoods that celebrate art, culture and community.

What we found on Wednesday, August 13th as we rode The Green Line from East to West – Union Depot in St. Paul to Target Field in Minneapolis, was just that. We hope you enjoy our blog of the people and places along the Green Line two months after its launch.
