In the fourth quarter of 2013, the Funders Collaborative awarded eight grants totaling $282,500. The grants support two of four Funders Collaborative goals: Vibrant Transit-Oriented Places and Effective Coordination and Communication.
Highlights from the eight grants awarded this quarter include:
VIBRANT TRANSIT-ORIENTED PLACES
Cycles for Change received a $35,000 investment to support an expansion into a full bicycle repair service.
Public Art Saint Paul was awarded $50,000 to support “Create: The Community Meal”, a two-year community engagement and public art project focused on healthy food and food systems.
EFFECTIVE COORDINATION AND COMMUNICATION
The One Day on Earth Foundation received $25,000 to support the creation of a documentary on the importance of human rights, including access to transit, for realizing opportunities within urban communities in the United States.
To date, the Funders Collaborative has made 116 grants totaling over $8.8M in four key areas: Access to Affordable Housing, Strong Local Economy, Vibrant Transit-Oriented Places and Coordination and Collaboration. For a complete list of investments, click here.
