After nearly a year of construction, the YMCA has opened a new St. Paul Midway building with added features that make it the organization’s “flagship” in the Twin Cities, according to the executive director of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities.
The 50,000-square-foot facility sits along the Green Line light rail route, within easy walking distance of the Fairview Station, at 1761 University Ave. W. Unlike most YMCA facilities, the new two-story building has an open-air rooftop, which will be used for fitness classes and as a gathering area for events.
