Nice Ride Minnesota announced last week the locations for their 40 new bike share stations – half of which will serve the Central Corridor.
The announcement says the new stations will be in place by mid-June and provides a map of current stations, stations to be installed in June, and future stations proposed for later this year or 2012.
The Catalyst Fund of the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative recently made a $250,000 grant to support Nice Ride Minnesota’s expansion into the Central Corridor.
“Once operational, the Central Corridor Light Rail Line will provide tremendous access to a wide variety of destinations in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, including jobs, educational opportunities, cultural destinations, and services,” said Jonathan Sage-Martinson, Funders Collaborative Director. “Nice Ride’s bike sharing system – and its station locations both at LRT stations and in neighborhoods surrounding the LRT line – is a great way to expand the number of workers, customers, and residents who will be able to take advantage of the Central Corridor LRT’s reach and convenience.”
This summer – even as the Central Corridor LRT line is under construction – Nice Ride will provide convenient access to businesses between the West Bank and Dale Street.
Nice Ride Minnesota’s annual subscriptions are on sale through May 31st.
