JOB ACCESS GROUP

Economic development and workforce development tend to occur in isolation from one another with only periodic connections made as their respective plans unfold. The Central Corridor LRT project provides an opportunity to integrate strategies between the two so they strengthen the prosperity of the entire corridor.

Jobs Central is an employment and workforce project sponsored by the Corridors of Opportunity initiative. This pilot project will demonstrate how to align skills assessment, training, and employment services provided to local residents with the employment needs of businesses, institutions, and industry clusters along the Corridor. The pilot’s goal is to support local industry job growth—and increase access to existing and emerging jobs for Corridor residents who are immigrant, low-income and/or persons of color.
