Green Line Parks and Commons
The Green Line Parks and Commons group convened businesses, nonprofits, developers, governmental representatives and others to create a shared understanding of how to integrate green space and public gathering space in the corridor, based on existing community plans. “Greening the Green Line” identified opportunities for incentivizing parks and commons through policies and programs and addressed the relatively new arena of encouraging private developers to incorporate green spaces and plazas.
This work was led by The Trust for Public Land with co-leadership provided by the City of Saint Paul and the City of Minneapolis. An active 20+ member work group included representatives from cities, developers, interested citizens, watershed organizations, and parks organizations who shaped the strategy and goals.
